Macau Viagem (2nd part of my long overdue HK-Macau trip blog)

Finally!!!

This post is really late since the 1st part was posted way back in May 2015. I was preoccupied with work, studies and so much more. But finally, I have made time to do this because Macau is too good not to share  :)

After our happy kid moment in Disneyland, me and my mom decided to go to Macau on our second day. I really really really love commuting in Hong Kong...everything is accessible, easier and faster. We woke up very early to catch the 1st ferry going to Macau.

ready for that early morning trip

We did not spend much  going around Macau since the hotels have a free shuttle ride from the ferry terminal to the hotel (then back to the terminal). If we want to go to a certain place, what we did is to find the nearest hotel in that area and ride the shuttle of that hotel :) Tip: to find the nearest hotel in the area you want to visit, first  grab a map at the ferry terminal.

And since there are free shuttle rides to casino hotels, our first stop is the Venetian Hotel.

After enjoying the ala Venice architecture, we went to Senado Square. We went back to the ferry terminal and rode the shuttle to Ponte 16. Senado square is just a few blocks away from the aforementioned hotel.  The place is really crowded but at the same time very lustful, especially for those people who are into European architecture.

It's almost lunch time when we arrived at Senado Square but we opt to eat lunch later and continue with our itinerary. As we walk towards the Ruins of St. Paul, there is this street comprised of various foods and local delicacies and they offered free taste of their products (what a blessing!)

the busy street we had endured

And now, we arrived at the Ruins of St. Paul! It was said that the church was ruined after the church caught fire because of a violent typhoon that struck Macau way back in 1830s.

Adjacent to the Ruins of St. Paul is the Macau Museum. The museum usually has a fee for visiting guests. However, visits become free when you go there on the 15th of the month...lucky us again!

Our tourist feels did not stop from there...next on our list, hotel hopping again :)

Hotels in Macau are indeed extravagant. I could not imagine myself booking a room even just for a night since it is really expensive. I am just happy though that I was able to explore the main halls and the lobby of these hotels...they have various art pieces that are really beautiful. Before we pushed to the last two hotels we want to visit, we went first to the Fisherman's wharf. This is where we incurred our first bus ride expense in our trip :)

The Fisherman's wharf is a hotel, convention, dining, retail and an entertainment area--- all in one place. It is Macau's first theme park and was modeled from  Euramerican fisherman's wharf. Because of its architecture, you could really create a plethora of poses and every angle of the Fisherman's wharf is a beauty.

Since the restaurant we want is not yet open, we walked back to the ferry terminal to catch a shuttle to Wynn Hotel. Luckily, we saw a small diner along the way and me and my mom decided to eat there...nom nom!

Final stop..Grand Lisboa and Wynn Hotel! We went here last because we want to see the dancing fountain. Good thing we arrived there just on time!

And that ends our Macau day trip!
