The Kalibo stopover

It's been a long time since my last post...and today, I want to share my experience last November in Kalibo. After our 2-day escapade in Boracay, we went to back to Kalibo one day before our flight just to make sure that we won't be late.

Goodbye Boracay...for now

When going to Caticlan, there is no need to pay again for the environmental and terminal fee; only for the boat ride which is 30.00. From Caticlan Jetty Port, we rode a different boat (I think the name was fast something2x) thinking that it is really fast; it's an enclosed air-conditioned type of boat. But I think this was a wrong move for us because early morning, I was feeling a little dizzy and riding it made my feeling a lot worse.

But that did not stop us! We arrived around lunch time in one our vacation buddy's house (actually, it's the house of her relative) to eat.

Their house is near to the town's "Little Boracay" (Jawili sea) and Jawili falls. Of course! we would not dare miss it.

Jawili Falls

This falls has seven basins and we took a hike to see each one of them. There is an entrance fee in Jawili falls however I forgot how much since the uncle of our friend paid it for us. But I know, that the price is really budget-friendly. We would really want to swim however due to time constraints, we didn't (maybe next time).

Our next stop is at Bakhawan eco-park- this is a 220-hectare man-made mangrove forest in Kalibo. We took a tour at the area and the entrance is also cheap...only 25.00. If you're into hiking, you would really like this place.

Aside from seeing all these mangroves, it's also an area for lovebirds...lol! You should also try the tamilok (woodworm) as this is one of their famous delicacy in the area.

Before the day ends, we went to Sampaguita gardens. The entrance fee is only 50.00 (consumable). They have a doll house way better than what I have saw in Surigao. The first floor contains dolls strategically arranged in terms of their theme while the second floor has a Christmas theme.
